Parlights installs Pipe Grids for Stages and Studios of all shapes and sizes.
Lighting pipe grids are perpendicular crosshatches of pipe attached to the structure above a stage or studio. It’s a useful way of installing lighting instruments because it provides a multitude locations to attach fixtures.
Although pipe grids can vary with every project, a basic pipe grid is comprised of several perpendicular overlapping runs of schedule 40 1-1/2″ steel pipe battens in two levels. The lower level pipe is usually suspended from building structure, while the upper level pipe is attached to the lower pipe battens with grid cross connectors. The spacing of the battens can be adjusted to your specific needs, though a good, versatile average is 4′ x 4′. If possible, the grid should also be secured to the walls for further stabilization.
In addition to stage curtains, track, and pipe grids, Parlights can also provide high quality Da-Lite and Draper projection screens and hardware. We offer front projection, rear projection, front/rear projection, as well as any surface type and color you may need.
